Exemplary Panel Initiative
Following up on the “Congrats, you have an all male panel!” (name and shame):
the YAE has started a positive feedback alternative, Exemplary Panels:
Let’s celebrate those who have achieved a gender balanced panel, conference, committee, etc.
In 2017, it is time for it to become the norm.

Science is Global meeting in Brussels
Our Chair was invited to participate in a meeting organized by the Royal Society together with
Clare Moody MEP in the European Parliament (Brussels) on June 27 about:
“Science is global: working together to nurture creativity and innovation and improve people’s lives”
This event is bringing together researchers from EU Member States and global scientific collaborators to discuss how best to deliver research and innovation across the continent for the benefit of wider society. It recognises that EU Member States have a proud tradition of jointly investing in the scientific endeavor and supporting excellence in discovery and applied research, collaborating closely with partners from the rest of the world. At a time of change, this meeting intends to bring together individuals to discuss visions for the future of European research, and how it can be maintained and strengthened.
There will be a follow-up Forum with the agencies involved, among which the YAE.
